I purchased my a pair of dachshunds 4 years ago and they are called Jack and Jill. The lady ,Jill tops the scales at only 14 lbs and the male is eighteen lbs. I got them kind a by mistake their owners both died a year apart. . I had no intention of breeding these wieners.Ive had three litters so far .I cant imagine a more friendly breed of dog after owning them. I was truly sad being away when Jill had her 1st litter. . It took me by surprisal when she had them as I had no thought how pregnant she actually was when we bought her . We found more puppies behind the toilet, one was still in the sack and not breathing.

Jill was stirring with the situation of her dachshund puppies and was truly worried. I had to lay her down and put the dog on her to suckle . After an hour or so she took to the pup and let it lay next to her, cleaned it and let it bunged . We thought we only had the 2 pups after looking around and finding no more.

After that evening we went up stairs to bed. . Jill and her newborn dachsund spent the night with us in our room so we could make sure everything was ok. . At last when they were both happy my husband turned off the light so the 4 of us could turn in for the night. As he was hitting the switch he heard a pup whimper .

He opened the door and followed the noise to the bed room across the hall. . What he discovered was another puppy lying in the bed with my other dog Jade. She was cleaning it. My other dog is an 80 lb half pit bull half boxer lady named Jade.

Jade has never had a dachshund before . What is really odd is that she does have milk when Jill has baby doxies. Jade is quite sure that Jills puppys are her own and Jill even lets her feed her . They regularly lie by her side. Jill is aware only too well that the pups couldnt be watched better by anybody else so herself and Jade have come to an agreement. They nap in one big pile Skippy,Jill,Jade and the infants. .

Every miniature dachshund seems inundated with people looking after them. . They leap all over Jade . She just lays there waggling her tail or fiddles with them. It's funny seeing her leap at them and they leap right back .It constantly surprises me that all of the pups have never been hurt as the size difference between Jade and them is massive.
