Mark Adams is a former National Geographic editor and author of new book, Turn Right at Machu Picchu. The novel explores the history and "rediscovery" of this Incan archaeological site, as well as the controversy surrounding its documentation and exploration.

While writing this book, Adams traveled with knowledgable guides that told him of the site's importance to Peru's indigenous population. He also learned about the nearby land, eating Coca leaves for energy and dodging mule hooves!
